Details:

Come and join me for a fun day of stitching - and a bit of cosy tea drinking and cake eating!

Held around the kitchen table at Muriwai Beach, Auckland  - a very relaxed and informal setting with a spectacular view of the beach.

10am - 3pm including half an hour for lunch (byo).

The Stitchsmith shop will be open for the day exclusively to class participants - lots of stuff at wholesale prices

  • needlepoint kits
  • embroidery kits
  • embroidery fabric and threads

In addition - selected colours of DMC floss at reduced prices.

Plus - a 10% discount if you have attended a previous Stitchsmith class.

Beginner Embroidery Workshop details:

The cost is $75 and includes tea and cake plus a BIG pack of supplies including:

6 x DMC stranded cotton skeins
Embroidery Hoop
Needle
Water erasable pen
Linen square
Embroidery design
Full color stitch instructions to take home.

Beginners'  Workshop will cover:

At least eight (depending on how we go timewise) embroidery stitches
Starting and finishing your thread
Different types of stitching fabric
Stitching tips and tricks
How to transfer a pattern to fabric using several different methods
Hoop art – how to present your work

What to bring:

All you need to bring  is your lovely self, a byo lunch and a pair of small sharp scissors!.

A deposit of $50 is due on booking with the balance due on the day (deposit becomes non-refundable 4 weeks before the class commences).

Intermediate Embroidery Workshop details:

Date - tba

10am - 3pm

The cost is $75 and includes morning tea plus a BIG pack of supplies including:

6 x DMC stranded cotton skeins
Embroidery Hoop
Needle
Water erasable pen
Several different types of fabric / stabliser
Full color stitch instructions to take home.

Intermediate  Workshop will cover:

This is an experimental workshop. We will cover more advanced stitches, try out different techniques on a series of different fabrics, learn how to embroider clothing etc.  If you have a particular project please bring it along. This will be a small, hands on class. If you are looking to expand your embroidery skills this is the class for you.

For this class  you mut be familiar with the basics (back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, satin stitch).
